Canva Unveils New Enterprise Offering To Meet Corporate Needs

In a significant move aimed at addressing the needs of large organizations, Canva has launched a new enterprise version of its popular design tool. This new release marks a shift from their previous offering, which was more suitable for small teams rather than fulfilling the comprehensive requirements of large enterprises. The updated version now includes features such as single sign-on, enhanced security measures, and tools for managing large groups of users, making it a robust solution for IT departments.

Cam Adams, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Canva, explained that back in 2019, the company was primarily focused on supporting individual users and small teams. However, over the years, they noticed an increasing number of large organizations adopting Canva, which highlighted the need for a more sophisticated enterprise solution. “We now have cohorts with up to 5,000 people using Canva inside an enterprise,” Adams said. “This new type of Canva enterprise product is designed to meet the needs of these larger groups.”

The new enterprise product addresses three main challenges identified by Canva as they expanded into larger organizations. First, design work is no longer limited to a single department; it spans multiple departments and industries. Second, with the proliferation of AI tools, there is growing concern among CIOs about “AI tool creep.” Finally, the involvement of multiple departments in the design process necessitates a tool that can manage not only user permissions but also streamline workflows across different teams.

“We’re no longer just thinking about empowering every person,” Adams emphasized. “We’re really focusing on empowering every organization. Our goal is to bring all the fragmented design processes into one unified platform.”

The new enterprise version also introduces centralized brand management and dedicated support, ensuring that large organizations can maintain brand consistency and receive timely assistance when needed. Additionally, the prior version of the product will now serve as a proper teams product, priced at $100 per seat per year with a minimum of three seats. The new enterprise pricing starts at $300 per seat per year, with volume-based discounts available for larger deployments.

Founded in 2012 in Australia, Canva has experienced remarkable growth, raising over $560 million in funding and achieving a valuation of $26 billion. Today, the platform boasts over 180 million monthly users worldwide, reflecting its widespread adoption and popularity.

With this new enterprise offering, Canva aims to solidify its position as a go-to design tool for large organizations, providing the scalability and advanced features required to support their complex needs. By addressing the specific challenges faced by enterprises, Canva is well-positioned to capture a significant share of the corporate design tool market.
